KANSAS CITY -- The Angels extended their winning streak to six games with a 5-4 comeback victory over the Royals on Friday night at Kauffman Stadium.
Trailing, 4-3, in the eighth, Zack Cozart and Shohei Ohtani ignited the rally with back-to-back singles off Royals reliever Justin Grimm. After Andrelton Simmons executed a sacrifice bunt, Luis Valbuena tied the game with a pinch-hit single to center field. Ian Kinsler drove in Ohtani with the go-ahead run on a sacrifice fly.
With the win, the Angels improved to 12-3, matching the 1979 team for the best start in franchise history.
