DETROIT -- Shohei Ohtani was able to sustain one rain delay Wednesday night, but a second sent him to the dugout to watch the Angels' bullpen falter in a 6-1 loss to the Tigers at Comerica Park.
Ohtani was breezing through his start when rain started falling in the top of the sixth inning, sending the game into a 41-minute delay. By that time, Ohtani had already waited out another 23-minute rain delay between the fourth and fifth innings and gone back to the mound to get three more outs.
The second rain delay forced both teams to go to their bullpen.
