Justin Upton and Jared Walsh hit a home run, the Angels went 0-for-4 with runners in scoring position and they lost to the Mariners, 6-2.
Things looked encouraging early on. Upton led off the second inning with a home run. A few batters later, Walsh followed with a solo homer of his own, putting the Angels up 2-0. That would be the only offense from the Halos the remainder of the game. They’d be held scoreless over the final seven innings.
In the third inning, the Angels had the bases loaded with one out. They couldn’t capitalize on the golden opportunity, as they had back-to-back outs, ending the inning with nothing.
