WASHINGTON -- On his 112th pitch Wednesday, Ricky Nolasco short-armed his delivery and cringed as he worked a 2-2 count vs. Nationals catcher Jose Lobaton. Angels manager Mike Scioscia and the team's trainer came out to the mound and pulled Nolasco with a possible injury.
Nolasco was just one strike away from exiting the sixth inning and likely being done for the day. The right-hander surrendered a two-run home run in the first inning but settled down afterward as the Angels held a 3-2 lead at the time of his departure. Jesse Chavez replaced Nolasco.
