ANAHEIM – As the four-hour point in a tied contest neared, David Murphy and C.J. Wilson sat together on the Angels’ bench in the bottom of Sunday’s 11th inning at Angel Stadium.
Baltimore manager Buck Showalter had just inserted left-hander Brian Matusz into the game. The Angels’ winning run stood at second, with Kole Calhoun at the plate and one out. Once teammates with the Texas Rangers and again with the Angels as of last month, Murphy and Wilson were running through the likely sequence of events to follow.
