Tim Lincecum is making a splash at the Triple-A level and heading in the direction of a big-league return.
Pedro Moura of the Los Angeles Times writes that the former All-Star and two-time Cy Young award winner threw in five innings of an extended spring training game with the Los Angeles Angels' Salt Lake affiliate. Two radar guns behind home plate clocked him multiple times at 89 mph -- far from the 94 mph he once averaged, writes Moura. But it is still a notable increase over what he was throwing last year (87 mph).
