The Angels continue to build a roster filled with players who excel at run prevention: They signed Ben Revere to a one-year, $4 million deal.
With Mike Trout in center field for the Angels, a lot of Revere’s time in the lineup could be in left, against right-handed pitchers, and in that spot, Revere is a defensive weapon. So is Trout, who fares well in metrics like Defensive Runs Saved. Right fielder Kole Calhoun is solid, as is Danny Espinosa, the team’s new second baseman. And Angels shortstop Andrelton Simmons led AL shortstops in Defensive Runs Saved last season.
