ANAHEIM – On a day the Angels made three errors, it would be easy to blame the defense for the loss.
Except they probably would have lost anyway. It just wouldn’t have looked quite so ugly.
The errors were the pock marks on an overall sloppy performance in an 8-1 loss to the Oakland A’s on Sunday afternoon.
The errors led to just two unearned runs, which meant the Angels still would have come up well short of beating A’s ace Sonny Gray, who lowered his major-league best ERA to 1.
