Mike Trout is the first player ever to hit 300 home runs with the Angels. He became the all-time franchise leader in home runs on Saturday in the third inning of the first game of a doubleheader against the Astros.
It was a 1-2 pitch from Houston starter Brandon Bielak that Trout hit over the right field wall for the milestone home run.
Trout passed longtime Angels outfielder Tim Salmon, one day after tying him with his 299th career home run in Friday’s series opener.
