Welcome back to the Mike Trout home run daily, where we relive every home run of Mike Trout’s career, one Angels game at a time.
We use a random number generator to select each game, and today brings us back to August 29, 2016, the beginning of a midweek series at home against the Reds. Trout in his career is 14-for-36 (.389) with five doubles, three home runs, and five walks in nine games against Cincinnati, and reached base four times in this one.
The Reds plated a pair on a two-run homer by Joey Votto in the top of the first against Matt Shoemaker, but Trout tied things up four pitches into the bottom of the inning against Dan Straily, a two-run shot into the hedges in center field.
