Today’s home run from Mike Trout was just last year, his only career home run, to date, at Fenway Park.
That’s not to say Trout hasn’t hit well in Boston. He’s a career .333/.436/.484 with nine doubles and a triple in 23 games. But his only home run there came on August 10, 2019, the penultimate game of a long weekend series at Fenway.
After striking out in the first inning against Rick Porcello, Trout hit a two-run home run off him in the sixth inning to knock him out of the game, well over the Green Monster:
This was Trout’s 39th home run of the season, tied for the most in the majors with Christian Yelich of the Brewers.
