Mike Trout becomes the fastest Angel to 30 home runs

ANAHEIM -- With his first-inning blast off Rangers right-hander Nick Martinez, Mike Trout on Sunday became the fastest Angel in franchise history to reach 30 home runs in a season.

He did it in his 97th game, and the 98th game the Angels have played. The previous record was held by third baseman Troy Glaus, who hit his 30th in the Angels' 102th game of the 2000 season.

Glaus is also the only Angel in franchise history to homer 40 or more times in a season. He did it twice, in 2000 and 2011. Trout is now on pace to hit 50 home runs this season.
