CLEVELAND – How about this for a shakeup for the Angels struggling lineup?
Manager Mike Scioscia said Friday that is a lineup they have considered, but ultimately have decided against, mostly because Trout would then have no protection.
“We have talked about it for a long time,” Scioscia said. “I think the only guy that is really going to protect Mike is Albert and that’s something to consider.”
The logic for making the move would be that Trout is hitting much better than Pujols with runners in scoring position, so if they were flipped Trout would get more of those opportunities than Pujols.
