It was an offensive showing in the ninth inning Thursday night, as there were a total of eight runs scored. Ultimately, the Mariners’ five runs were the difference maker, as they defeated the Angels 8-5.
Seattle entered the inning up by only a run, but they quickly put the game out of reach. Shed Long led the inning off with a solo homer off of Hansel Robles. After back-to-back walks, J.P. Crawford singled in two runs to push their lead to 6-2. Two more singles from the Mariners gave them the 8-2 lead entering the bottom of the ninth.
