Last night the Los Angeles Angels sent Fernando Salas to the New York Mets for a minor league pitcher by the name of Erik Manoah. Earlier this month, the Kansas City Royals picked up Daniel Nava in exchange for cash and a “player to be named later.”
This means that the Angels are focusing on the salary cap. Usually, teams that have a real shot at a championship will go over the cap and pay the plenty tax. However, teams like the Angels have to dump their roster and stay under their limit.
