Entering the 2015 season the Angels had a big question. Who would play second base? During the winter , former general manager, Jerry Dipoto traded long-time, aging second baseman Howie Kendrick to the Dodgers for top left handed pitching prospect Andrew Heaney. Kendrick was getting older and in the final year of an expiring contract, Heaney was 23 and still had 6 years of club control. The move left a hole at second but has a chance to go down as one of the best moves the Angels have made with Heaney showing much promise in 2015. Simply put anyone who still thinks trading Kendrick for Heaney was a bad move just doesn’t know what they’re talking about.
