When the LA Angels drafted Torii Hunter Jr. In the 23rd round of the 2016 Amateur draft, they did not know if he would sign or how soon he would be in an Angel uniform. However, after a September concussion Hunter Jr. Suffered while playing wide receiver for Notre Dame University, Hunter Jr. made a very wise decision giving up football and join the Angels minor league system.
In 2017 Hunter Jr. Reported to the Orem Owls, the Angels rookie ball team and put up some pretty good numbers hitting .352 with a .432 OBP in 213 plate appearances.
