The LA Angels started this week out by doing something they hoped they would never have to do, place Mike Trout on the disabled list. The move became necessary when Trout slid into second base last Sunday and tore ligaments in his thumb. So the Angels called up Eric Young Jr. to add another outfielder to the mix.
On the same day they also called up minor league pitcher Parker Birdwell to start on Tuesday which Bridwell pitched well in enough to allow the Angels offense to get going and gain a 9-3 victory.
