The LA Angels have been slumping since a fast 13-3 start to the season. One of the big reasons has been lack of production from right fielder Kole Calhoun. Calhoun had a bad first month of the season hitting a paltry .172 with one homer and 10 RBIs. You might think it could not get any worse for the Red Baron, but it did.
In the month of May Calhoun hit .108 with no homers and only one RBI. His only value to the team was his Gold Glove caliber defense that he has played all season. When Calhoun went on the DL with a strained right oblique muscle he needed a break badly, not just physically, but mentally.
