Kemp gets well at Angels' expense, leads Padres to 4-0 win in 10th

The Padres' Matt Kemp hits a three-run double off Angels relief pitcher Joe Smith in the top of the 10th inning Tuesday.

ANAHEIM – Matt Kemp has been, so far, the worst player in the major leagues in May. And then he started the Padres’ series against the Angels with an awful, unlucky Monday night, and watched a clear ball be called a third strike with the bases loaded Tuesday.

So for the ex-Dodger to lace a liner off Angels reliever Joe Smith – breaking open a scoreless game in the 10th inning – must have felt mighty fine.
