Angels relief pitcher Justin Anderson will have Tommy John surgery next week, the team announced on Friday.
”Justin Anderson recently underwent an MRI that revealed a tear of the UCL in his right elbow,” Angels general manager Billy Eppler said in a statement. “UCL reconstruction surgery is the recommended course of treatment. The procedure is scheduled to be performed by Dr. Keith Meister in Dallas, Texas on Wednesday, July 22nd.”
Anderson was one of the mainstays in the Angels bullpen the last two years, pitching in 57 games as a rookie in 2018 followed by 54 games last year.
