Angels pitcher Julio Teheran will pitch three innings in an intrasquad game at the club’s alternate training site at Blair Field in Long Beach on Thursday, manager Joe Maddon said Tuesday.
That simulated game was originally planned for Tuesday, but the veteran right-hander threw a light bullpen session instead. Pitching coach Mickey Callaway said the decision was not injury related, per an Angels spokesperson.
Teheran has been building up his innings after missing the first two weeks of summer camp while dealing with coronavirus, and started the season on the disabled list.
