Well, how about this hot stove season?! Angels and Billy Eppler waited til time was almost out before making some serious moves. First, Hector Santiago to the Twins (more on that in Jessica’s post) and now the Cubs have officially acquired reliever Joe Smith from the the Angels.
Smith had some rough patches in the first half of the 2016 season, including some time on the DL, but he’s been pretty solid since the All Star break, regardless of his current career highs in ERA and FIP. Here’s the official news of the deal:
