On Friday night, Seattle Mariners manager Lloyd McClendon employed a smart tactical decision: With the Mariners leading the Los Angeles Angels 3-1 in the bottom of the eighth and one out, he brought in his best reliever -- closer Carson Smith -- to pitch to Mike Trout and Albert Pujols.
