Hector Santiago turns in another quality start before Angels get wild walkoff win over Mariners in 10th

Angels left fielder Daniel Robertson, left, runs into the arms of Angels right fielder Kole Calhoun after Calhoun scored on a wild pitch in the 10th inning to win the game at Angel Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

ANAHEIM – Hector Santiago came to spring training knowing he had to compete for a spot in the Angels’ starting rotation. Now, baseball’s campaign is not halfway completed, and the 27-year-old left-hander has proved he belongs, at least for the duration of this season, if not far longer.

He continued his unexpected run with a sterling seven-inning effort in the Angels’ 3-2 10-inning victory over the Seattle Mariners on Sunday.
