Heaney allowed four hits, walked one and struck out five. He has allowed two runs in nine innings over three Cactus League starts.
"Today felt really good," Heaney said. "Today felt like a normal game during the regular season would. Obviously I only got up to around 60 pitches. I don't know how I would've felt 30 pitches later, but I feel like I have a lot left in the tank. I think that would translate."
Rangers starter Nick Martinez went four innings and allowed three runs, two earned. The Rangers committed five errors while Martinez was on the mound and Ian Desmond, playing center field, lost a fly ball in the sun.
