ANAHEIM – The Angels’ lack of an established left fielder might be the most overt deficiency among baseball’s potential contenders in 2016. But it won’t be the source of their undoing, according to one prominent player.
Left-hander C.J. Wilson said the source of the Angels’ starting-pitching innings will control more of the team’s fate than any potential offensive issues.
“When you have that good of a core, you don’t need 10 Mike Trouts,” Wilson said. “The biggest question mark is going to be how many innings and how many wins do we get from starting pitching, regardless of the composition of the rotation.
