Halos to stay cautious with Aybar's hamstring

ANAHEIM -- Angels shortstop Erick Aybar exited Thursday's game early with left hamstring tightness after running down the first-base line.

Aybar drove in Johnny Giavotella with a squeeze bunt in the fifth inning, giving the Angels a 4-1 lead, but grabbed his left hamstring before he touched first base and jogged gingerly back to the dugout. Taylor Featherston replaced him in the top of the sixth.

Aybar is batting .344 since May 3 and had assumed the Angels' leadoff spot. If Aybar has to go on the disabled list, the Angels would probably call up Josh Rutledge or Ryan Jackson from Triple-A Salt Lake.
