OAKLAND — In the fifth inning of a game that certainly allowed the Angels and their fans to dream of what could be this season, their hopes suddenly turned to concern.
Their 5-0 victory over the Oakland A’s on Wednesday night was played amid a backdrop of anxiousness because Garrett Richards left the game with right biceps cramping.
Although that doesn’t sound serious, any arm problem causes alarm when it’s the arm of the Angels best pitcher, one who missed almost all of last season with a torn ulnar collateral ligament that was initially reported to be dehydration.
