Former Angels outfielder and current Astros third base coach Gary Pettis has been diagnosed with multiple myeloma and will miss the rest of the 2020 season. The good news is that he is expected to make a full recovery.
Pettis hasn’t coached a game for Houston since September 15. He was sidelined with hip discomfort. Tests conducted to find out the cause of the discomfort led to the diagnosis of multiple myeloma.
