PHOENIX -- Second baseman David Fletcher, one of the Angels' most productive hitters of late, was removed from Wednesday's game against the D-backs in the fourth inning with an apparent injury.
Fletcher fouled a ball off his foot before hitting a single to center field on the next pitch in the top of the fourth. But he was noticeably limping when he broke from first base on Albert Pujols' double-play grounder to shortstop. In the bottom of the inning, Fletcher was replaced at second by Kaleb Cowart.
Fletcher, who was 1-for-2, had three hits and two RBIs in a 5-4 loss at Arizona on Tuesday.
