CLEVELAND – The Angels’ sluggish offense didn’t leave them any margin for error, and when a pitching decision backfired on Manager Mike Scioscia, that was all it took.
The Angels lost 3-1 to the Cleveland Indians on Friday night, wasting six scoreless innings from rookie Andrew Heaney.
It went down as a loss for reliever Trevor Gott, who was charged with three runs in the seventh. However, much of the blame for the loss falls on an offense that has was practically silent again. The Angels, who have been in a monthlong offensive malaise, have scored three runs in the last three games.
