OAKLAND – When Alex Meyer finally stepped on a major league mound in an Angels uniform, he performed pretty much as you’d expect.
The good and bad – why the Angels wanted him, and why the Minnesota Twins traded him – were both on display.
In his first major league game since the Angels got him in an Aug. 1 trade, Meyer struck out five and walked four in 3 1/3 innings of the Angels’ 4-1 loss to the Oakland A’s on Wednesday afternoon.
Meyer was charged with just one run, which scored after he was out of the ballgame.
