ANAHEIM – On a day of missed opportunities for both teams, it was the Houston Astros who finally converted.
Mike Morin gave up a three-run homer to Carlos Correa in the 13th inning of the Angels’ 8-6 loss to the Astros on Sunday afternoon.
Correa, the reigning Rookie of the Year, had been given the day off. Before he finally came up as a pinch-hitter, he had watched chance after chance go by for the teams as the game spun deeper into extra innings.
The Angels had some of the most promising opportunities, stranding 14 runners.
