ANAHEIM — The Angels’ bats offered little at the plate Sunday afternoon and they lost, 3-1, to the Tampa Bay Rays, who completed the weekend sweep.
Over the three games against Tampa Bay, the Angels scored a combined five runs, their fewest for a three-game series in 2016.
The loss also marked their seventh in nine games and put them at a season-high five games below .500.
Briefly, things looked promising for the Angels at the plate after Kole Calhoun and Mike Trout knocked a pair of singles in the first inning.
