Final: Angels blow out Mariners to move alone into first place

Andrew Heaney pitched seven scoreless innings while the Angels routed the Seattle Mariners on Sunday, moving alone into first place.

SEATTLE – The Angels will be able to enjoy the All-Star break from first place.

The Angels’ 10-3 victory over the Seattle Mariners on Sunday moved them ahead of the Houston Astros, alone in first in the American League West for the first time since April 17.

Although they have just a half-game lead, they will at least be able to enjoy the symbolic value of first place in July – for whatever that’s worth -- for a few days during the break.
