ANAHEIM — A wild pitch did it. The Angels loaded the bases with no outs in a tied 10th inning on Sunday but were one strike away from playing on.

Albert Pujols had grounded into a double play, and Mariners reliever Tom Wilhelmsen had Kyle Kubitza in an 0-2 count. But he could not put the rookie third baseman away. Then, a 2-2 breaking ball got away from catcher Mike Zunino, and Kole Calhoun came home to score the winning run in a 3-2 Angels victory.
