ANAHEIM – The Angels’ Miserable May reached it most miserable point on Tuesday night.
The Angels lost, 8-1, to the St. Louis Cardinals, dropping their eighth game in the past 10. They have lost four in a row to fall a season-worst six games under .500, at 13-19.
During this nightmarish stretch – that has also seen them lose ace Garett Richards and Gold Glove shortstop Andrelton Simmons to serious injuries – they have at least been competitive in their losses.
Until this one.
Beyond the mere ugliness of the score, this game prompted further questions about the best healthy pitcher the Angels have left.
