ANAHEIM -- Angels third baseman Yunel Escobar landed on the 10-day disabled list for the second time this season on Tuesday after being diagnosed with a mild Grade 1 right oblique strain. He is expected to miss 2-3 weeks, the club announced.
Escobar exited the Angels' 11-10 loss to the A's on Sunday afternoon with what was initially described as an "intercostal strain" and later underwent an MRI exam, which revealed the oblique injury.
"Obviously it's going to take a little bit of time," manager Mike Scioscia said. "These things sometimes run their own course.
