Dylan Bundy named Angels’ Opening Day starter

On Monday morning, the Angels announced that Dylan Bundy would be their Opening Day starter.

This doesn’t come as much of a surprise, as Bundy was arguably LA’s best pitcher in 2020. He went 6-3, and his 3.29 ERA was the best of his career. In addition, he also had career-highs in FIP (2.95), WHIP (1.04), SO/9 (9.9) and SO/BB (4.24). Bundy finished ninth in American League Cy Young Award voting.

He’s also been great for the Angels so far this spring, as he’s thrown two scoreless outings so far.

Joe Maddon didn’t release the rest of the starting rotation order, but you’d assume it’ll feature the likes of Andrew Heaney, Jose Quintana, Alex Cobb, Griffin Canning and Shohei Ohtani.
