Early this morning, I had an update on Dexter Fowler, saying it looked as if he wouldn’t be going on the Injured List. Following the game, manager Joe Maddon said that he avoided a major injury and there was a chance he wouldn’t miss much time.
However, the club decided to place him on the 10-day IL on Saturday due to his knee sprain from Friday.
Instead of calling up another outfielder, the Angels have opted to call up right-handed pitcher, Jaime Barria. When speaking with reporters on Saturday, Maddon said the decision to add an additional arm to the bullpen was due to the unpredictable weather taking place over the next few days.
