ANAHEIM – The Angels lately have gotten the David Murphy they hoped for when they acquired him last month.
Murphy, whose game-tying homer on Sunday night got lost amid the drama that followed in the Angels’ extra-inning loss, has eight hits in his last 22 at-bats, with two homers and six RBI.
It’s been a refreshing change for a player who had only six hits in his first 31 at-bats with the Angels.
