ANAHEIM — The stars seemed to be aligning for Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Robbie Ray on Monday night.
In just his fourth start this season, the lefty cruised through the first five innings without surrendering a hit to the Angels.
That was, until he got to Daniel Robertson in the sixth inning.
The outfielder singled on a line drive to right field with two outs.
“Some of those things you can’t control,” Robertson said. “Getting the first hit felt good, but we wanted to break up the no-hitter as best we could. I was just trying to go to the plate to get something started.
