ANAHEIM -- C.J. Cron underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left thumb on Tuesday and is expected to be cleared to resume baseball activities in six to eight weeks, the Angels announced. The club anticipates him being ready for Spring Training.
Cron had "been experiencing some moderate pain at the base of his left thumb" and opted for the procedure after an examination determined he needed a debridement, according to the Angels. Dr. Steve Shin performed the surgery in Los Angeles.
Cron previously had surgery on his left hand in July after sustaining a fracture when he was hit by a pitch.
