OAKLAND -- The Angels' first grand slam of the season came from an unlikely source.
Kaleb Cowart, who entered Tuesday batting .123 in 73 at-bats this season, crushed his first career grand slam off A's right-hander Lou Trivino to cap a six-run sixth inning that staked the Angels to a 7-4 lead in their series opener at the Coliseum.
The Angels trailed, 4-1, entering the sixth, but they loaded the bases with one out after Jose Fernandez walked and Justin Upton and Shohei Ohtani singled.
