C.J. Cron was to undergo athroscopic surgery on his left thumb on Tuesday, with an expected rehab time of six to eight weeks, the Angels announced. The timeline does not threaten Cron's availability for spring training.
Cron had been experiencing some discomfort in his thumb, so Dr. Steve Shin determined he needed a debridement, according to the Angels.
Cron had surgery in July after his left hand was broken by a pitch. He missed about six weeks.
Cron, 26, hit .278 with 16 homers and a career-best .792 OPS this season.
