ANAHEIM -- A pair of solo home runs from rookies bookended the Angels' 5-4 series-opening win over the Rangers on Monday night at Angel Stadium. Shohei Ohtani opened the scoring with his hardest-hit home run of the season in the first inning, and Jose Briceno ended it with a walk-off shot off Rangers reliever Matt Moore in the 11th, halting the club's five-game skid.
The Angels handed a one-run lead over to rookie Ty Buttrey in the ninth, but the Rangers came back to tie the game after Ronald Guzman doubled off the center-field wall to set up Elvis Andrus' two-out, pinch-hit RBI single to left field.
