The Los Angeles Angels made it official former Yankees assistant general manager Billy Eppler has been named the 12th GM in club history as he signed a five year deal with the club on Monday. Eppler was a finalist in 2012 when the Angels chose Jerry Dipoto over him in their previous GM search. Dipoto was credited in restocking the Los Angeles Angels farm system in his three plus years as club GM, but a personality clash with Angels manager Mike Scioscia came to a boil in late June prompting Dipoto to resign. Former GM Bill Stoneman who had been a club advisor assumed the role through the end of the 2015 season while Angels owner Arte Moreno and team president John Carpino looked outside the organization for Dipoto’s replacement hoping to find someone who can co-exist with Angels maager Mike Scioscia.
