A once promising season has been spiraling out of control over the last 35 games, losing 23 of those games well only winning 12. After a sizzling July that saw the Los Angeles Angels win 18 of 21 games at one point building a two game lead in the division over the Houston Astros, the Angels bats turned ice-cold. Even a couple of late July additions David Murphy, David Dejesus, and Shane Victorino didn’t seem to help. Injuries to David Freese and recently to Johnny Giavotella coupled with a slumping catcher in Chris Ianetta has been part of the problem, however the lack of production from all-stars Mike Trout and Albert Pujols has been particularly alarming.
