PEORIA, Ariz. — Throughout the winter, Jered Weaver held out hope that the day last October he received a standing ovation from Angel Stadium fans wasn’t going to be his last in an Angels uniform.
As recently as a couple weeks ago, Weaver talked to Billy Eppler on the phone.
“I wanted to see if you guys had anything for me,” Weaver recalled telling the Angels general manager.
He got the same answer then that he’d gotten in October: Sorry, but no.
“Thats the business side of things,” Weaver said Sunday. “There’s a point of your career where business comes into consideration.
